About Video Production Plans

A video production plan is a document that contains all the important information about your upcoming videos. It covers things like what will happen in each video and how much it will cost to make them.

Some companies find it useful to create one video production plan for their whole company, while others prefer to work on separate plans according to what they’re producing – for example, one plan for advertisements and another for instructions.

The most important thing about your video production plan is that every member of your production team has access to it. That way they can be sure that they’re all working together on the same project and that they know what their roles are in each video.

Now let’s look at some of the features of a video production plan.

  • Estimation of what it will cost to produce each video
  • Names of people involved in making it
  • The timeline for each video (when you need to get things done by)
  • How long each video is expected to last
  • What equipment will be needed to film and edit the video
  • If voiceover is required, the name of the person who will do it and how they’ll be paid
  • What will go into each video (ie. script)
  • Whether new equipment will need to be bought or if you can rent/borrow them instead

You might also want to include a list of references at the end of your plan, highlighting any sources that are relevant to what you’re doing.

Just make sure you update the plan regularly so everyone knows how things are progressing and can stay on top of their work.
